Artist Bio
I am primarily a self-taught artist and have always had a passion for
painting. I grew up in Cornwall, England where I was inspired by the
intrinsic beauty of the dramatic rocky coastlines and quaint Cornish fishing
villages bathed in clean, crisp light. I became fascinated at an early age
with the thriving artistic movement centered largely around St.Ives and
Newlyn and still continue to visit these towns on my annual pilgrimage to
Cornwall.
I have lived in Summit County, CO for over 20 years and although the
subject matter for my landscape paintings may be different from my native
Cornwall I find many similarities in the quality of light found here.
My landscape works are painted in
either acrylics or, more recently, oils
depending on my mood, the subject and how I best think the essence of
the scene ma best be captured
.
All artwork featured on my site are original paintings. Some of my work is
also available as limited edition giclee prints, each individually hand
embelished.
The painting “Willowbrook Highlands” won Best of Show at the Summit
County Arts Council Annual Fall Juried Art Show in 2005. I also won the
Summit County Garden Club poster competition in 2007.
Please let me know if you'd like an in-home viewing of any pieces - I can
